The NZELTO Asia programme is for government officials aged 25 – 45 whose work has a connection with the intake-specific theme, preferably in a technical or policy role. The theme for the current intake is Trade Policy.

Yes, applicants will need to have an English language proficiency equivalent to International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 4.5 – 5.5. You should already be using English frequently for work.
As part of the selection process, applicants will be asked to complete an English language test through an online provider, you will be sent information about this test if you are selected.

Your employer must complete, sign, and stamp the Employer Endorsement form as part of your application.
You must have a valid passport. It must be valid for at LEAST three (3) months after the course finishes. If you do not have a valid passport you must apply for one.
You will arrive in Wellington on 3 June 2025 and stay for 13 weeks. You will have some online meetings with the programme team prior to departure. There will also be some pre-departure briefings held in-country by New Zealand Posts or partner organisations.
The scholarship is for 13 weeks full-time study. You will travel to Wellington, New Zealand, to study at Victoria University of Wellington. You will need to complete a workplace project when you return to your country.
This is a full scholarship. The scholarship will cover all of the costs required to participate in the NZELTO scheme, including economy class travel to and from New Zealand, visa fees, a living allowance, accommodation, and medical insurance.
You will be required to complete a workplace-based project on return to your country and this includes preparing a 10-minute presentation.
